Rasmus Rasmussen guitar player in Makrel has released his second solo album entitled Edelweiss. This is a bit of a stylistic change for the guitarist; Edelweiss is mostly based on electronic beats with Rasmus' beautiful and heart warming guitar tunes applied on top. COPENHAGEN GIG

Makrel needs your help at the Faroese event Asfalt! We are looking for 4 individuals that will be selling our albums and posters at Asfalt. You will be working one day - either Friday or Saturday at the big stage outdoors from around 20:00 - 24:00, together with one other member of the Street Team. Members of our Street Team will get one Asfalt Light ticket and a gift from Makrel as thanks for helping out.

VOTE FOR FILTHY TOUNGE
This week we're at 4th place in the Faroese charts with the first single from 'Transcend'. The single is called 'Filthy Tounge', and you can vote for the song on www.uf.fo/15bestu
Last week 'Transcend' was the number one selling album at 3arin - and this week it's the 3rd most selling album.
We have added a player in our music section where you can hear snippets of all songs of our new album 'Transcend'.

NEW ALBUM - NEW SITE
At long last... The new album 'Transcend' has been released today! We're very happy about this release and hope you will like it too! We haven't been able to upload any new songs just yet, but will do so in the near future - in the mean while you can check out two new songs of the new album on our profile on myspace.com/makrel
'Transcend' was recorded and mixed by Conor Patrick in a studio in Trondheim, Norway, and mastered by Lehnert Kjeldsen at Master Touch in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The new album presents a quieter, warmer, more meditative Makrel and is brimfull of quality songwriting, melodic guitars and vocals and introspective, reflective lyrics.
Thanks to all of you who came to our release party last friday. We had a great time.
As you can see, the website has had a bit of a lift. We hope you like it. More news and updates will come in the next couple of days.

The judges have ruled. Although we got more than 23 per cent of all the votes and finished at 1st place with 3 points, the judges decieded that to give all remaining 4 points to Jade who won by one point.
Thanks to all of you who have voted. We couldn't have done it without you.
Remember to come see us live at VEGA 27. August. The gig starts at 20:00 - and will be featuring 200 and Gestir.
Working on getting some t-shirts done with some MAKREL print on ready for the VEGA gig - will be announced next week.

We have now finished all the recordings we planned to do before we entered the studio. Ári just sung his last vocals and spirits are high as we feel the result is great, in places much better then we´d hoped for. We don´t want to reveal too much at the moment, but the vibe in the band is positive.
Our bus leaves for Oslo tonight and we´re gonna be up all night listening to the material and discussing how we want it all to sound. So there it is, the third album is on it´s way and we hope it´s all going to be a pleasure to hear.
By the way thanks to those of you who have voted for us in the final round of Nordic Unsigned. Remember to vote once a day to keep the rivals away, we´re grateful.

Hi there everybody.
Lately we have been quite busy. Last week we played at the Storåsfestival in Norway and what a great festival it was, lots of good bands, bathing in the ”bade stampe”, which are outdoor bath tubs in the festival area… and we also met lots of very friendly and cool people. We also got a lot of very positive feedback from the people who heard us play… so all in all it was a great experience in every way.
We have also gotten some good media coverage at the festival. The biggest broadcasting network in Norway, called NRK, filmed the whole concert, the biggest newspaper in Trondheim wrote an article about us and some other local papers as well, and also we were invited to play two more gigs in Trondheim, one of them is going to be held at the most popular place in Trondheim. So if you are in town, please drop on by and say hello to us, and a cool local band called “Josephine”, which are going to perform as well.
As we are writing this, we are in the studio recording our third album. It feels wonderful for us to be recording again and everybody is very exited about the whole thing. This is the third day and so far we have done well, most of the drums are recorded and at the moment Rólant is strumming on his wonderful Voodoo Gibson like a madman. We are hopeful about the third album and please cross your finger for us. We will be back later with more on the new stuff, so keep on visiting this page.

Makrel are to play LILLE VEGA at 27. August. The gig will be with faroese bands: 200 and Gestir.
We're very happy to be playing VEGA again - and hope there will be as many of you as the last time (when we played a sold-out concert!)
The tickets are 125 DKK. If you buy a ticket at the entrence it's 145 DKK.
Makrel are to play friday 29. July at the Storåsfestival in Norway. The Festival lasts 3 days from 28. - 30. July.
